The Body as Canvas

I was blown away when I first came across this post on The Daily What. With the internet making it so easy to explore art from all over the world sometimes it's easy to become numb to so much of what you see. This was so refreshing to see and I love how they explored this idea outside the gallery as well by having the painted people walk around like it's any other day. Check out the Flickr set here.

Growing up CAD

I donated a painting to the Chicago Art Department Fundraiser, which is this Saturday! Tickets are available here, or head down the the Pilsen 2nd Friday art walk and check out a preview from 6-10! There are a lot of great galleries in the area and I look forward to taking a nice summer stroll through Pilsen tonight!

Also take peek and the artists who will be featured here

Busy, busy

Update time! I've been busy, busy....The Ravenswood Art Walk was this weekend and I sold a few pieces and got to explore a new neighborhood! Great weekend in Chicago! I'm working on getting some new items ready to put in my etsy shop and also working on some pieces on paper and some painting as well. Here is a piece in progress, thought it would be fun to show the progress of this piece from the previous gel medium transfer blog. The criss-cross pattern is strips of felt and I wanted to mimic a pattern from the top of a homemade pie.

New on Etsy and a finished piece

Just listed on etsy! This is a print I did a few years ago back at UCF. This is more abstract than my current style but I still love it.

Here is  painting I recently added some hand stitching to. It's the horizontal lines with stitched drips marks coming down. I'm thinking this piece is finally done!

Where's the air conditioning?

Definitely not at my apartment, but I've been crankin' the fans and portable A/C unit in my bedroom and got to work recently and here is what I have been working on.

Close up on the stitching:

And don't forget to check out my etsy shop! The link is on the sidebar to the right. I'm going to add some prints/drawings right now!
