Well, hello!

I've been neglecting my little blog here, for shame! I've been busy with all kinds of fun summer activities and haven't been working on many art or crafty projects, but hopefully soon! I did get some Holga photos scanned and got some more film, I can't wait to try black and white!

Here are some of the shows I've been checking out (just a small portion!).

I get a little too attached to some of my paintings. Time to let them go! I've never tried to sell large paintings on etsy but I'm giving this a shot! Check out this 48" x 48" painting listed here for local Chicago pick up. It's titled "How You Look and Dress".

School Daze

I see the composition book pattern and can't help but think of middle school and slam books. Maybe that's what we called them, I think they were basically memory books. Did anyone else do those? Aaaaanyways, check these new bookmarks out in my etsy shop!

Sketchbook

Having three family members come visit over 2 weeks at separate times didn't leave me with much time for art projects this month so far. I had a blast but now I'm happy to catch up on some crafting, painting, etc. So for now I will post a drawing of my glasses until I can put up something new. Nerd power.

The Lenny & Me opening for featured artist Liz Weber was last night and it was also a night to show off the new artists and crafters they are carrying, including myself! Photo taken from their Facebook page, check it out for more info on the store and the Three Birds gallery which is located in the back of their lovely vintage shop in Wicker Park.

Oh!

Make sure to check out this shop in Wicker Park, they are carrying some of my work!

I'll be dropping off some items at a store in Wicker Park soon, details to come!

The Body as Canvas

I was blown away when I first came across this post on The Daily What. With the internet making it so easy to explore art from all over the world sometimes it's easy to become numb to so much of what you see. This was so refreshing to see and I love how they explored this idea outside the gallery as well by having the painted people walk around like it's any other day. Check out the Flickr set here.

Live from Logan Square

How do I unwind after a long day of being a desk monkey? Well tonight I cooked, then sat in my work area in the apartment, watched Law & Order and took notes from a book I recently finished. Now I think I might just have to have myself a gumballhead. Niiiiiiiice. Even if I don't have the motivation to work on a project I like to sit back here and be surrounded by my art supplies.
